The Textile Institute is continuing its Introduction to Textiles Short Courses in 2025, reinforcing its long-running commitment to technical education across the textile supply chain. Originally launched in 2010 to celebrate the Institute’s centenary, the three-day intensive program is offered twice a year and is designed for professionals involved in textile manufacturing, research, development, and commercial operations. The 2025 program is structured around seven core topics: Fibres, Yarns, Weaving, Warp & Weft Knitting, Non-woven Fabrics, Dyeing & Finishing, and Fabric Testing & Analysis. The course covers textile products used in apparel, household, and technical textile applications, giving participants a broad but practical understanding of how materials move from concept to performance evaluation. As the industry faces increasing demand for faster development cycles and smarter sourcing decisions, education that connects material science with commercial application is becoming more valuable. By combining foundational knowledge with specialist modules, the 2025 short course positions fabric knowledge as an essential business capability, not just a technical discipline. Source
